This programme has Swedish as main language of instruction. You apply for the programme from our Swedish website.

Being an opera singer means that through the music, with your voice and body, you embody people’s thoughts, feelings and relationships with your strong and spirited presence on stage. Opera is often about epic dramatic events and emotions, but an opera singer must also be able to embody people’s innermost secrets in a concentrated and expressive way.

Applicants should have already completed studies in music and vocal techniques and have good knowledge of music theory. You should also have a strong musical-dramatic expressive drive. Our students have often already completed preparatory studies in music or musical drama at a college of music, folk high school (independent adult education college) or study association.

The objective of the Bachelor’s programme is to educate its students so that they become independent, artistically aware and reflective opera singers.
