NPP presentation weeks 2023
The students in the New Performative Practices MA program (NPP) are experienced practitioners from diverse fields.
In their education at Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH) these performing artists are given context and support to engage with their own histories, refine and develop their research methods, and form sustainable approaches to support ongoing practices in their chosen art field.
The programme is research preparatory, which qualifies the student for a Master of Arts in Choreography with a specialisation in Performative Practices.
There are currently fourteen students completing their studies at NPP:
- Alexis Steeves
- Darya Efrat
- Eva-Maria Schaller
- Felicia Bichard
- Irina Anufrieva
- Laressa Dickey
- Maja Hannisdal
- Maria Ferreira Silva
- Robert Malmborg
- Sara Kaaman
- Sarah Bellugi Klima
- Tove Skeidsvoll
- Valentina Parravicini
- Yari Stilo
During the past two years, these artists have gathered their energies and supported each other. They have engaged with their studies thoroughly, finding ways to navigate the precarity of their fields in times of extreme change.
They have cultivated nuanced relations with each other as artists through care and criticality. They’ve faced (and sometimes struggled with!) the tensions between artistic production and sustained practice, between standing up for artworks and letting them speak for themselves, between ethical constraints and aesthetic license, and between their own accountability for the futures they can see.
They’ve done this with pleasure, humor, anger, and compassion.
Presentation weeks 2023
The April-May 2023 presentations program invites audiences to a specific aspect of these fourteen artists’ Master studies: a presentation of artistic practice.
In these encounters, audiences can expect a remarkable range of approaches to performance. Each of the fourteen artists proposes a specific way of inhabiting and unveiling the artistic practice with which they are currently engaged.
Audiences are invited to participate, witness, watch, listen, share, and sometimes intimately engage with these artists’ inspirations and physicalities in venues throughout Stockholm.
